Insects of Pinnacles National Park
The Pinnacles are a part of the Gabilan Mountain Range, and the site of an ancient volcanic eruption. The area is a mix of rolling grassland, oak savannah, and chaparral. The largest caves in the Central Coast can be found at the monument. This is an area that receives little rain throughout the year, and is a stronghold for many xeric species. - Jon Hirt
