BIOLOGY
Nesting Preferences
Females make nests using existing tunnels created by other insects, nails, etc. A single egg is laid in each nest and provisioned with paralyzed insect larvae and spiders. Adults feed on nectar.
Importance
Some believe that Native American pottery was inspired by these wasps.
