Insects of Cerrito Creek - Albany & El Cerrito

Cerrito Creek and adjacent Albany Hill are a rare oasis of natural habitat in the city, with varied native vegetation, deer, coyotes, birds -- and lots of insects! At the north foot of the hill, both sides of the creek are parkland, most easily reached by walking east from Pierce Street or by fording the creek near the table in El Cerrito's Creekside Park, at the south end of Santa Clara Ave. Volunteers from Friends of Five Creeks have worked to maintain habitat along the creek for more than 10 years -- our August 2006 survey was part of early efforts. Find out about this area's fascinating history, natural history, and volunteer efforts at http://www.fivecreeks.org/projects/cerrito_creek/.
